Happy February from all of us at Irvine Academy of Music!

As we enter the season of love, kindness, and new beginnings, we want to take a moment to thank you for being part of our music community. Whether you’re a long-time student or recently joined us for a trial lesson, we’re so excited to support your musical journey.

Teacher of the Month

                               ✨ Teacher of the Month: AUTUMN

We’re so excited to celebrate our Teacher of the Month, Autumn! 🎶

Autumn has been making music for most of her life. She started playing the flute at just 10 years old, and by 11, she had already picked up the saxophone too. More recently, she’s added piano to her musical toolbox while in school.

Her love for music began at home, inspired by her dad, who plays the trumpet in several bands where she grew up. Talk about a musical family! 🎺✨

Autumn’s favorite part of teaching is seeing students grow more confident each week and discover what they’re truly capable of as musicians.

After she graduates from UCI, Autumn hopes to continue her education by pursuing a graduate degree, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things ahead for her.

We’re so lucky to have her as part of the Irvine Academy of Music team! 💛

🌟 Student of the Month: Jason Lee

We’re excited to recognize our Student of the Month, Jason Lee! 🎶

Jason has been selected because of the incredible hard work and dedication he brings to every lesson. His positive attitude, consistent effort, and commitment to improving have truly stood out.

Jason plays the saxophone, and it has been wonderful to watch his progress and growing confidence as a musician.

Keep up the amazing work, Jason! We are so proud to have you as part of the Irvine Academy of Music family. 🎷👏

🎼 Music Tip of the Month (February)

Here’s a simple practice tip to help students improve faster this month:

✅ Practice in “Mini Sessions”

Instead of one long practice, try:

  • 5–10 minutes in the morning
  • 5–10 minutes after school
  • 5 minutes before bedtime

Short, consistent practice builds stronger habits and keeps music fun (especially for younger students!).
