May is here, and it is a wonderful time to celebrate the music, progress, and excitement happening at Irvine Academy of Music.
As the school year begins to wind down and summer gets closer, many students are building confidence, learning new songs, and preparing for a season filled with creativity and growth. This month, we are excited to highlight our Teacher of the Month, Student of the Month, Music Tip of the Month, Music Trivia, and our special summer music offers.
⭐ Teacher of the Month: Teacher Lucia
This month, we are excited to celebrate Lucia as our Teacher of the Month!
Lucia’s musical journey began when she was just two years old after seeing an orchestra perform for the first time. By age six, she started playing violin, and her love for music continued to grow from there.
In high school, she discovered mariachi music and performed in a competitive mariachi band at Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Downtown Houston. She later continued her studies at Chapman University under Dr. Er-Gene Kahng, where she developed a special interest in Early Music Ensemble and chamber music.
Lucia loves teaching because she enjoys mentoring students, helping them recognize their strengths, and encouraging their love for music.
We are so grateful to have Lucia as part of our music community! 💛
🌟 Student of the Month: Sarah Ramay
Lucia would also like to recognize Sarah Ramay as Student of the Month!
Sarah began playing violin in August 2025 and has already shown wonderful dedication to her musical growth. She practices 3 to 4 times a week and always gives her best effort to every assignment.
Sarah is very fond of her teacher, Ms. Lucia, and is always excited to learn more and do more. She is kind, curious, eager to improve, and brings a great attitude to her lessons.
Outside of music, Sarah loves to draw and read. She also makes the best mug cakes!
Congratulations, Lucia and Sarah! We are so proud to celebrate both of you this month. 🎶

Special Summer Music Offers
Special Summer Music OffersTo make this season even more exciting, Irvine Academy of Music is offering special summer music lesson deals for a limited time.
Families can take advantage of offers such as:
Free Ukulele + Carry Bag
Sign up for 3 months of ukulele lessons with a friend, sibling, or parent, and both students receive a free ukulele and carry bag.
Free Guitar for You and a Friend
Students ages 6 to 13 can sign up for 3 months of guitar lessons with a friend, sibling, or parent, and both receive a free guitar.
Free Instrument Rental
Sign up for 3 months of lessons and receive a free rental for violin, viola, trumpet, trombone, flute, or clarinet. Students can keep the rental for as long as they continue lessons.
If your child does not have someone joining them, no worries. These offers are also available for solo students. 
This is until June 30, 2026.
Reserve Your Summer Lesson Time
As summer schedules begin to fill up, May is a great time to reserve a preferred lesson time. Staying consistent with music lessons during the summer helps students keep building confidence, improving their skills, and staying motivated.
Whether a student is continuing lessons or trying an instrument for the first time, summer is a great season to grow through music.
