Summer Is Here and Music Is in Full Swing!

Newsletter

Summer has officially arrived, and we are excited to kick off another season of music, learning, and fun at Irvine Academy of Music!

As the school year comes to a close, many families are looking for meaningful activities that keep children engaged, productive, and growing. Music lessons are one of the few activities that combine creativity, confidence-building, discipline, and fun all in one experience.

This month, we’re sharing exciting summer promotions, music tips, academy updates, and opportunities for new students to get started.

Why Summer Is the Perfect Time to Learn Music

Summer offers students something they often don’t have during the school year: time.

Without homework, tests, and busy school schedules, students can focus more energy on learning an instrument, developing new skills, and building confidence.

Many of our students make some of their biggest breakthroughs during the summer months because they have more flexibility to practice and explore music at their own pace.

Whether your child is interested in piano, guitar, violin, drums, voice, ukulele, trumpet, flute, clarinet, saxophone, or another instrument, summer is a fantastic time to begin.

Summer Specials Available Through June 30

Summer Special

To help more families experience the benefits of music lessons, we are offering several special summer promotions. These promotions are available through June 30 and are a great way to get started with a new instrument this summer.

Summer Music Tip for Parents

If your child is just starting lessons, try creating a simple daily music routine.

For example:

  • 5 minutes of warm-up exercises

  • 5 minutes reviewing previous material

  • 5 minutes learning something new

Keeping practice sessions short, positive, and consistent helps students stay motivated and enjoy the learning process.

Student Success Starts with Consistency

One of the most common questions we hear from parents is:

“How much should my child practice?”

The answer may surprise you.

Consistent short practice sessions often produce better results than occasional long practice sessions.

A focused 10–15 minutes a day can lead to tremendous growth over time.

We encourage students to:

  • Practice regularly

  • Set small weekly goals

  • Celebrate progress

  • Focus on improvement rather than perfection

Remember, every accomplished musician started with a single lesson.
