Summer is flying by, but there’s still time to make July meaningful.

Before backpacks come out and homework returns, give your child the opportunity to build confidence, learn a new skill, and discover the joy of music.

July is one of the best times to begin music lessons because students have the freedom to focus, build strong fundamentals, and start the new school year feeling confident and prepared.

🎵 Student Practice Challenge

July Summer Music Challenge

Can you complete the 14-Day Practice Streak?

Practice your instrument for 10–15 minutes every day for two weeks.

Keep track of your practice with a calendar or sticker chart.

At your next lesson, tell your teacher how many days you completed!

Remember…

Small daily practice creates BIG results.

💡 Music Tip of the Month

Create a “Music Time”

Children build stronger practice habits when music becomes part of their daily routine.

Instead of asking, “Do you want to practice?”

Try making it part of the schedule.

Examples:

🎵 After breakfast 🎵 Before dinner

🎵 Right after summer reading 🎵 Before bedtime

Consistency is much more important than practicing for long periods.

Even 10 focused minutes every day can produce amazing improvement.

Did you know the violin is often called the “queen of the orchestra”?

It can perform beautiful melodies, exciting solos, and even imitate the human voice.

🌟 This Month's Teacher & Student Spotlight 🎶

Ms Mary

Teacher of the Month: Congratulations, Teacher Mary! 🎻

This month, we’re excited to recognize Teacher Mary as our Teacher of the Month!
Teacher Mary began playing the violin at just 9 years old after hearing a beautiful Christmas album featuring a violinist. Inspired by the music and a family friend who also played, she discovered a lifelong passion that she now shares with her students every day.

As our Violin, Viola, and Cello specialist, who also teaches Piano, Teacher Mary is dedicated to helping students build confidence, develop their skills, and enjoy making music—especially as they perform with their school orchestras.

Her dream is to continue inspiring even more students while one day performing as a member of an orchestra herself.

Thank you, Teacher Mary, for your passion, dedication, and the positive impact you make on every student. We are grateful to have you as part of the Irvine Academy of Music family! ❤️
